M.I.A. probably feels like the Tony Hayward of hip-hop these days. Her every utterance picked apart by those who think she’s just to dang British. Diplo hasn’t been shy about his criticism of her new album, even though he contributes two tracks to the final product.
The DJ-producer recently tweeted in response to the question: “Tell me why does it sound like a toilet just flushed at the end of ‘Tell Me Why’???”
Answer: “cuz rest of album is a turd.” ZING!!!
Diplo produced the tracks “Tell Me Why” and “It Takes a Muscle” for the album, but seems to tell everyone who will listen that he’s not feeling the rest—apparently even track produced by his Major Lazer partner Switch. I group hug might be in order.
love diplo but ‘tell me why’ and ‘it takes a muscle’ are probably the two weakest tracks on an otherwise good album.
