DJ Shadow “Def Surrounds Us” Goes DnB/Dubstep (MP3)

Yesterday, we debuted two new tracks by DJ Shadow, played live at Wireless Festival. Today, Shadow follows it up with a new track, “Def Surounds Us,” premiered by UK jock Zane Lowe. The song fuses dubstep and drum & bass rhythms with some nice ambient soundscapes and Shadow’s masterful sampling technique.

Shadow also revealed on the show that he’s recorded 35-40 minutes of music finished. He expects to need another five months in the studio to wrap up the record that can be expected in 2011. Which, if you’re doing the math, works out to about six minutes of music per month.
