On a day off from the 9 to 5, I began to play the mixtape that I have been sitting on for a while. As I sat working on projects using my computer, skimming and flipping through screens like a poker card shuffler the GTW’s “Don’t Smoke the Cigarette” mixtape was playing on full volume through my headphones(respect for my elderly/nosey neighbors). Coming from Chicago The GTW was first introduced to the URB next 1000 hip hop community as Jay Greedy. The GTW has made a new mixtape that endorses an eclectic mix of beats and rhymes into a cohesive sound of his own. Tracks that you should take a listen to include: “All I C,” “Half-way freaks,” and “Running all my life.” I dedicate the “PATA PATA” track to the GTW and the Nigerian soccer team. Though they lost to Argentina they are still contenders for the World Cup. Yep, yep, it’s Monday and this mixtape will smooth your work week over. So, let’s go, listen and download!
