With TV on the Radio on hiatus, the group’s sonic mastermind Dave Sitek has been busy with his own Maximum Balloon project, with a full-length scheduled to come out August 24th. You can stream the first track, “Tiger” on the Maximum Balloon website (although you need something called a Facebook log-in to hear it). The song features some funky guitars, funkier horns and vocals by Aku from Dragons of Zynth, who’s voice has more than a passing resemblance to TVotR singer Tunde Adebimpe. So if you’re only paying half attention, you could fool yourself into thinking this is new TV on the Radio music—with actual “meow, meow, meow” lyrics. Way to go, tiger.
