Roger Sanchez kicked off his Stealth Live Tour last night in Washington D.C. and from what we have heard it was pretty dope, but then would you expect anything less from Mr. S?!  Lucky for us we got to catch up with him before he left for his thoughts on the tour and just where house music is heading in the US.  Make sure you get out and check this tour as it can be hard to catch him in the US at times due to his plethora of bookings and residencies around the globe.  Roger is not to be missed, hit the video after the jump for the tour’s full line up and dates!

URB:  So your tour is about to kick off and sees you headed out, how are you feeling about it and what can we expect from you and the Stealth cast?

Roger Sanchez:  I’m very excited about the Stealth Tour!  Lex Da Funk has been doing some great work and I know we will rock the gigs!  I’ve got loads of new trax to drop and I can’t wait.

URB: Nice one!  I noticed you were playing Mansion in SoBe.  You threw an epic 7hr night there this past WMC!  What are your feelings for WMC 25 years on?  There seemed to be a shift this year that was coming between being for the dj vs. the clubber and more and more djs are starting to give it a miss.

RS:  I think that WMC has definitely changed its focus from when it began and has become more internationally oriented.  There has definitely been more of a shift to the events and not the conference itself.  There needs to be a reinvigoration of the conference in order for it to regain it’s position.

URB:  I also question that same shift happening musically across the US.  You have been such a rich part of America’s dance music fabric, where do you hope to continue taking us on the journey and do you see the house & tribal scene growing in North America?

RS:  The dance scene has definitely had a major resurgence and the house scene in particular is growing.  I am beginning to see a broader spectrum of artists embracing the spectrum.

URB:  Stealth Records does its share to help promote house music stateside, who are some acts on the label that we should keep an ear out for?  Who if anyone out there, has really been doing it for you sonically at the moment?

RS:  I think Lex Da Funk is one of our rising stars as is Jason Chance, Avicii is having a great year and Chris Moody is rocking as well!

URB:  Some say the things that go hand in hand best are peanut butter and jelly or coffee and cigarettes… what goes best with Roger Sanchez?

RS:  A sexy crowd!
