Sunday night Wiz Khalifa touched down in Washington DC on the second leg of his “Deal Or No Deal” tour to play to a sold out crowd of young, rowdy, and extremely super fresh weedheads (most of them). Accompanying Wiz was the around-the-way cutie Jasmine Solano and the impressive oddball that is Yelawolf.
Before the show started the energy outside the club was resonating with excitement and a line around the block, making spectators stop and ask, “Who is Wiz Khalifa?” One thing, if anything, that I can say about Wiz Khalifa fans is that they’re ride-or-die considering some of these kids had been waiting at least four hours to get into the show… they’re also probably one of the more stylish and sneaker savvy group of people I’ve seen thus far, like a walking and talking Karamloop.com. I ain’t mad tho!

Jasmine Solano hit the stage about a quarter to 9, most of the kids had no idea who she was which means they also had no idea what they were in for. I however already knew what was good with Solano since I’ve been bumpin’ her single “That’s Not It” for a few months now. The crowd welcomed Solano pretty effortlessly so it was no big deal that they didn’t know who she was only moments prior to adoring her. I suppose she cheated a bit too, being in a room of avid chiefers and playing anthems like “I’m So High” by Three 6 Mafia and Dre’s “The Next Episode”. Good tactics girl! Jasmine Solano was easily one of the highlights of this show. Not only did she MC/DJ her own damn set but also Yelawolf and Wiz. With a spectacular array of jams to get the party, and keep the party going, Solano is that girl you want at your next quinceanera, bar mitzvah, whatever.
Yelawolf, Yelawolf, Yelawolf. A lot of people compare him to Em which I think is unfortunate because if you’re really down with Yelawolf, it’s clear that this man is on some next, whether it be because he’s probably insane or just that ill of an artist. Yela definitely had a way with the ladies, bringing girls up on stage and rapping to them, even asking if they were interested in a threesome later. His charm reminded me of that of some scummy skate kid who somehow hung out in the trap and was friends with all the dope boyz. Yela played a good portion of his catalog including “Good To Go”, “Medicine” and a crowd favorite “FU” in which the entire venue sung along with their middle fingers in the air.

Wiz Khalifa finally hit the stage with all his Taylor Gang buddies playing “B.A.R. (Burn After Rolling)”. The crowd was more than elated to see their favorite tatted up wonder boy. The audience went wild and suddenly this hip-hop show turned into a high energy dance party once Wiz played his hit “The Thrill”. Things got reallll loose once Wiz removed his shirt to play his pro-tattoo jump, “Ink My Whole Body”. Yeah, he’s skinny but he still had all the girls in the building going ape, not to mention his slow grinds and gyrating didn’t hurt either. I even caught myself a time or two lookin’ in my purse for singles. Hayyyy. Speaking of throwing things on stage, at one point during Wiz’s set a very horny fan in the audience proceeded to throw a very large black bra on stage right at the rapper. Wiz picked up the bra, and after giving it a close examination proclaims, “Damn, those are some big titties.” and the show went on. Wiz ended the show with “Deal Or No Deal” single “The Plane” and gave a sincere thanks to all his die hard fans for not only coming out to the show but selling it out as well. A little sad to see him go, his fans started throwing up the Taylor Gang sign and cheered until the lights were on once again. I think ill high energy dance party bananas extravaganza hip-hop shit isn’t enough to describe the “Deal Or No Deal” tour, but I do my best. Solano, Yelawolf and Mr. Wiz Khalifa himself make it a show you’d definitely be sorry you missed out on.
