As if there wasn’t already enough reasons to want to move to California, the state might just go ahead and legalize the use of marijuana entirely. Of course, we kinda thought pot was already legal. It sure feels that way in LA, where medical reefer dispensaries have popped up like, uh, weeds over the past few years. And even as the city moves to restrict and control the facilities, a ballot initiative this coming November might just make the debate moot.
Of course, you like to think that in a blue state like Cali—the first state to legalize medical marijuana over a decade ago—a vote like this should be a sure thing. Hopefully it will also mobilize folks who might vote down Prop 8, the constitutional amendment that banned same sex marriage in California on the same day it helped vote the first black president into office.
