We woke up and came out strong in the morning. I took off on foot for coffee and the group’s first gig was a DJ set with Kingdom and L-Vis 1990 back at Silhouette. A small crowd danced to the mid day acid house set while the masses piled in the streets outside for the day. It felt promising.
I landed in the Levi’s Fader Fort to meet Keys N Krates and catch The Very Best. The set was excellent, they hit the stage big and brought the and then I fell in love with Marina and the Diamonds. Well, more Marina than the Diamonds.

Cubic Zirconia was supposed to perform at the Blind I For The Kids showcase and I made my way over to 6th Street to catch it. Unfortunately, it was amateur hour with the hosts and the band cancelled the set. I however, went on to the Mad Decent Carniville to see what it was all about. Well, it was a carnival.
Fair rides, funnel cakes and a stage laid out across the plaza of a huge cultural center. The crowd formed at the front of the stage and we caught Hudson Mohawke crush it and then came a special impromptu appearance by the one and only Dam Funk. Oh, Theophilus was there too.

We left with Dantana, and made our way to see Smokey Robinson and Raphael Saadiq. They wouldn’t let me in with a camera, so we snuck in, and left right after headed toward Green Label Sound’s showcase to see Tanlines. I lost energy, met TONE and headed to recharge our phones at the Virgin Mobile house. Diplo spun the night away and it was time to crash. Of course, I got completely lost on foot on the way home.
Today, the band hits at 2:30 at the Mad Decent Carniville, the final foray of the week. I can’t walk, see you there.
