Not exactly sure what it is about this quickly ascending Alabama-crew but every-time Paper Route drops a track, I find myself subconsciously playing it in the stereo of my brain non-stop. Whether it’s the roaring soul sample on “Soul Glo”, the eerie, yet confident chants on “Wood Grain”, the hot-and-bothered Southern romanticism on “Don’t Go” or the stoned funk of “Keyshia Cole”, the Paper Route Gangstaz are certainly making a case to compete with the spaceships that they share their hometown with for most noteworthy attraction in Huntsville, Alabama.
On their latest, “Gotta Make this Move”, the quartet frantically attempt to squeeze a gallon of lemonade out of the gigantic lemon life throws at us sometimes.
