Jean-Michel Basquiat’s New Film and Footage – The Radiant Child

No Tags

Jean-Michel’s rise and fall has to be categorized as one of the greatest and worst points of the 1980’s.  Had he continued on in his life and career he would have surely been been America’s first and most prominent black artist.  But he didn’t and SAMO is gone forever left only to live on in the few photos and moving images that we have of him.  Thankfully there are people like Tamra Davis to remind us.

Tamra was a close friend of Jean’s and had been compiling footage of the artist at the time of his death.  What she amassed on the celluloid were interviews, rarities, and behind the scenes peeks into Jean-Michel Basquiat’s life.  When he died she put them all away, no one ever saw the footage.  Fast forward 20 years and she finally decided to have a look and, in conjunction with others who knew and/or filmed Jean, has put together what appears to be a top shelf movie on the man we love and admire.

Take a look for yourself.  When more info becomes available on its release we will definitely let you know!
