In more label scuttlebutt, Tim Goldsworthy—the other half of the DFA label and production team along with James Murphy—has unexpectedly moved from the label’s New York base back to his original home country of England according to Resident Advisor. According to DFA label manager Jonathan Galkin, Goldworthy had no contact with the label prior to the move:
“Tim Goldsworthy moved away to somewhere in the United Kingdom, without informing anyone here at DFA. We have had no word from him since he left the United States. So we moved on with our lives and our business. Simple as that. He most definitely took a piece of us when he left, but we wish him the best with whatever he gets up to next.”
Goldsworthy himself offered a more nuanced version of events, explaining that his physical absence has nothing to do with his ownership or participation in DFA. “”If that was the case then, well, Murphy’s never there, cause he’s always touring or in the studio, so that would mean he left, I don’t know, nine years ago or something?” Let’s just set their Facebook status to “It’s Complicated”
