Hip Hop Fights Climate Change Head On With MOKUGIFT

news2 01 Hip Hop Fights Climate Change Head On With MOKUGIFT

Hip-hop is fighting climate change head on. Bay Area rapper/producer Tajai of Souls of Mischief and Pharoahe Monch have teamed up with MOKUGIFT, a dope tree planting site with the mission to foster environmental solidarity by making it easy and rewarding for ANYONE to fight climate change and by providing the tools to inspire others to do the same.

MOKUGIFT’S tree planting website makes it possible for concerned people, even those lacking access to planting space, to plant real trees for just $1 apiece, either for themselves or as gifts to others. Visual and interactive elements make receiving/planting a MOKUGIFT tree fun, uplifting and memorable.

Through its ARTISTS AND ATHLETES PROGRAM launched on World Environment Day, fans too can plant trees with Pharoahe Monch, Tajai, Mystic, and DJ Sake-1 among others. As part of the United Nations Environment Programme Billion Tree Campaign, MOKUGIFT has made it easy for the public to get involved. For just $1, you can plant a tree in Africa, Asia, or Central America without lifting a shovel. MOKUGIFT enlists the help of planting organizations Trees for the Future and Sustainable Harvest International to do the dirty work so you don’t have too. Kermit the Frog says, “it isn’t easy being green.” He has obviously hasn’t heard of MOKUGIFT! At $1 a tree there really is no excuse not to contribute!
