These are certainly rules that we, the most fortunate — well, the most comfortable, at least — people in the Western Hemisphere can abide by as we seek multiple channels to help our Caribbean neighbor during a total humanitarian crisis. Nike, Dirty Debutante and the hard-working, hard-partying team at SutraNYC will ply you with beer for six hours straight, if you’ll just bring two cans of food (NOTE: please bring canned items which DO NOT require an opener) or a used pair of sneakers. I KNOW we can do that. In fact, if you don’t feel like a party, why not think of this as your local collection spot for Haiti and stop by just to make your drop. URB has a lot of NYC readers and, as is said during times like this: if everyone reading this just stopped by and gave whatever they could afford to, we’d have food for HUNDREDS OF PERSONS WHO QUITE SIMPLY WILL ENDURE UNNECESSARY HARDSHIP WITHOUT OUR USED SHOES AND/OR TWO CANS OF FOOD. Will YOU stop by 1st Avenue and 1st Street in Manhattan tomorrow with two cans of food?
