I love Drake. I will be the first to admit it, and, though it drives everyone else mad, I can’t stop my love for October’s very own. But today I’m a little stumped. How is it even possible for him to be releasing a dvd about himself before the album drop? Is part of his success due to a flagrant disregard of the typical chronological ascent of an artist? Yes. If he is trying to introduce us to his world and his story via dvd to push that album, why not just make an incredible album telling his story? Can someone please explain? Or is that the problem? There’s nothing to explain… so far, Drake’s played the game his way, and it’s been going well. If he can seriously offer a dvd introduction about himself, then it must seem like a truly viable venture. You could always sell a bunch of hype-em-up-more dvds and produce a mediocre album after, but you can’t produce a mediocre album and expect to sell a bunch of dvds. The anticipation is killing me, oy!
