Never one to hold her mouth, Kelis has spoken out against PETA after receiving a personal letter from the organization (apparently in protest of her wearing fur). You can read the whole thing here (and you should, because it’s pretty astonishing) but here are some highlights:
- “I would eat pterodactyl if you found some and you told me it was meaty and delicious.”
- “founder Ingrid Newkirk is completely batty.”
- “If I started wearing endangered animals like polar bear or orangutan then talk to me.”
Guess we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that Kelis and Kid Sister collaboration.
She contradicts herself by saying she, “would eat pterodactyl,” and saying she “believes in preserving endangered species.” Surely if some pterodactyl were found, it would be considered endangered!
“What if I was hurling Loubitons and Pierre Hardy’s at every sad poorly dressed person on the street?” <–She spelled Louboutins wrong, but the image of her hurling them at the poorly dressed, just cracked me up!
Kelis proved she’s an idiot. There is a very distinct difference between eating meat and wearing fur. One is called survivalism. The other is called ignorance.
ingrid newkirk needs to resign for her insensitive remark “get over it” in reference to black slavery in america. where are her ethics and compassion when dealing with this issue. people lose positions all the time for insensitive remarks toward gay and animals so shouldnt black people be on the same pedestal. and i agree wiht kelis 100%
