Dennis Ferrer, a godfather of house, recently caught up with the Brooklyn kids at Big Shot for a little “how was your ‘09″ chat. It was an interesting little little conversation that ended with an unexpected health warning. Dennis is a pretty big name and I have always wondered things like this about big name DJs.
Apparently 2009 saw Dennis booked so much that he ended up joining the Continental Airlines “million mile” program. Its one of those super secret, get whatever you want kinda gigs because its people like this that are keeping them in business right?! I have imagined that the process of attaining this would be quite difficult on the body as Ferrer has come to realize. He believes that he has spent one quarter of his life on an airplane to make your club bounce. Thank you Dennis, from the bottom of our hearts.
What many may not have realized though was that Dennis was hospitalized this year basically from an OD of espresso. That’s right kids…. coffee. The medical term is bradycardia and reads like an after school special you never want to be in. So he travels too much and drinks his espresso to stay up with us, admirable to say the least, but where is the the silver lining you ask? Check out what his doctor actually told him…
“…ending up in the ER with bradycardia. The doctor said I was better off doing a gram of blow. You’ve been warned!!!!!!”
