I love electronic dance music producers but what I go crazy for is an EDM artist who add some pop panache to their output. DJ Hell is one of techno’s longstanding artists who seems to be making some serious power moves right now to further establish himself in the echelons of unforgettable dance music heavyweights. Note that presently, there is a definite resurgence of ’70s-’80s pop with some kind of viral craze concerning a certain Bryan Ferry (and, of course, Roxy Music). Well, Ferry makes an appearance on “U Can Dance” – this polished electro disco number completed by Hell, alongside Peter Kruder. The video, directed by Jo Apps, features sleak and sexy chicas who were styled by Nova Dando (whose work includes La Roux and The Gossip). This tune will be sure to make you shake and pop.
The single is Out January 2010 with remixes by Carl Craig, DFA mainstay Tim Goldsworthy and pop electro superstars Simian Mobile Disco.
