I wouldn’t go so far as to call Bloody Gears a hardcore band, but its punk gets pretty nasty. There’s no thrash and nary a breakdown. But since the band hails from Boston, which has one of the deepest HC histories in the country, it’s understandable. Don’t expect the F.U.s or SSD, just some adept, quick step street punk. Oddly enough, though, the band’s singer comes off a bit like Greg Sage from the Wipers every once in a while.
Regardless, the group’s demo has been made available through its blog. So cop it and find out what Maximum Rock ‘n Roll was gushing about.
