So honestly I live in a cave, like serious if you’ve been to my place in the 3 weeks i’ve been there loft means cave. Suffice it to say, I have not stood in line to watch new moon & both of my roommates who do film/tv post production have no interest in downloading it. However, Ayla Montgomery (who was so nice as to drive me to the echoplex last night) told me lupe’s new rock song is the business & before I knew it, I was telling you go buy the soundtrack to this summer’s teen sensation on itunes. Didn’t see that coming. Really didn’t, back when I was getting kicked out of a different school every semester thought I was against the system. Maybe I’m a phony baloney.

Lets not act like I won’t watch the Grammy Awards Jan 31st, 2010 @ staples center praying (cross your fingers too) that a LP with Thom Yorke, Lykke Li, Grizzly Bear & Lupe Fiasco will win in its category. I mean, not like twilight needs help selling merchandise, the soundtrack is certified RIAA platinum since October. Apparently it has more pre-sale tickets than Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Batman, Michael Jackson everybody, ever. Big deal for a movie that couldn’t get a deal from the major studios prior to lines of tweens & co that shelled out the $ thanksgiving weekend when it was #1 at the box office again after having had the 3rd biggest opening weekend of all time. The soundtrack for the 1st film and this one are the 1st #1 soundtracks ever. Billboard says so. Back in my dj prime, I read Billboard like the homies turn on sports center randomly in the middle of the night religiously… But that was before they changed the format of the magazine, again. But shot out to all the magazines in the world, blogs may help spread info but I still like having something that can get wet.

Unlike my phone, because I’ve killed more with H20 than the torture tactics @ Guantanamo Prison that’s “going to close” then “closing soon” but never does. I feel like getting one of those freshjive shirts now, despite all the gardening his wife does. “—media coverage that Obama get” Jay Electronica by the way got love @ the Hit+Run Repeat Offender last night my inspiration behind the decks Gaslamp Killer in the fact that he played not just “anakin’s prayer” and said “if you haven’t heard of dude yet you will”… Big shot outs to everybody that showed love last night, and by the time he put on” Transformations Exhibit A” (which not even to geek out on, light-weight changed my life) I was already “turned up” as young people say these days . Honestly I’m a little hungover so no photos yet of the festivities but I will give a shot out to Ms. Chrystal @ Politeinpublic.com for putting these up while I still have crust in my eyes, I’ll put the real post-party when I get back from the Loft 7 sample sale on the 7th & Broadway in Downtown LA, free booze, + DJ if you actually read all this you deserve a prize! Goes till 6pm if you see me act cool…
