Arcade Fire Producer Revealed

In an interview with BBC 6music, Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons revealed that Markus Dravs is working with Arcade Fire on the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2007’s Neon Bible. Dravs worked on the previous record, and has been in the studio for about six months working on the new one.

Mumford told the BBC: “I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this but yeah, he’s working on the next Arcade Fire record at the moment. I’m sure that’s public knowledge, because he’s been there for about six months.”

Mumford knew of the collaboration between the producer and band after working with Dravs on the Mumford and Sons debut record, Sigh No More. Not much has been said by Arcade Fire’s camp about the upcoming release.

Mumford added: “I keep asking Markus how it’s going and he’s like, ‘Yeah, it’s okay’,” he said. “And I’m like, ‘What are the songs like?’ And he goes, ‘Better’.”

At this point, at least we have a barometer of the quality we can expect.
