Indie group Hey Champ (previously signed under Lupe Fiasco’s label FNF) just leaked a brand new track from their upcoming remix project w/ dubFrequency. Taking the vocals from one of my personal favorites from Gone Fishing – “Champions” — Hey Champ mashes together a concoction of 80s pop and funk as background to match. Definitely an interesting sound to hear The Cool Kids on since we’re all so used to their signature yet minimal drum beats. Take a listen here and look out for the rest of the project soon (rumored appearances include Mike Posner, The Sounds, and others)…
