Although The Ettes have not been around for too long, they are already releasing their third album. For fans of The Ettes, Do You Want Power does not disappoint.
In comparison to their other work, The Ettes are very experimental on this album. They still have their raw garage sound, it’s just a little more polished. They don’t stray too far from their sound, but veer from time to time in other musical directions. “Love Lies Bleeding” has country vibes while “Walk Out That Door” tends to have more bluesy undertones. They still rock out on songs like “Modern Game,” “Enjoyed I Can Be Your Lover,” and “Blood Red Blood”. These songs are not as pop sounding as the majority of their work: these songs come from a darker place.
