You wouldn’t believe Breakestra has resurrected from a 4-year hiatus since 2005 because the funky soul melodies from their current album Dusk Till Dawn is oozing with funk from beginning to end.

While tracks like ‘Need A Little Love.’ is perfect for sitting back and vibing ‘Dark Clouds Rain Soul’ could make a listener two-step down their own personal soul train line. ‘Come on Over’ is reminiscent of the memorable music that graced Motown. ‘Get it Right’ is formulated with a up-tempo beat and heartfelt guitar play. ‘No Matter Where You Go’ is one of my highlight tracks because its filled with a fresh melody and fast paced rhythm. ‘Me & Michelle’ is a G Funk instrumental track that encompasses a fluent variety of soul from the play of the fiddle to bass kicks and drums.

As a whole the transition from one song to another is almost unrecognizable that one would believe that they are listening to one 74 minute long track. But this album holds true to what is was made for and that is in dedication to Miles’ late Root Down DJ partner, DJ Dusk, who lost his life in a drunk driving accident.
