G1 was fortunate enough to get our hands on a copy of Graffiti Planet 2, a new Graf book that was put together by Ket. If you are unfamiliar with Ket, please feel free to check out the features section and read our interview, I promise you will learn a thing or two.
I have to say, the first time I flipped through this book I couldn’t help notice the clarity of the images and vibrant color quality. We see a ton of these books, and often times the photographs of the art tend to be a bit grainy and dulled, well done guys.
The book profiles artists from all over the world and fans of the medium get to sample techniques and pallets from across the globe. This book also includes a lot of artists who are on top of their game and are considered among the best writers in the world. The book features various mixed media photos and presents a few wheat paste poster murals, I can appreciate the love given to this more recent form of Street Art.
More importantly, this book adds to the legitimacy of graffiti as an art form. It has page after page of beautiful art, it has a lot of groundbreaking pieces done in the most recent history. People will be surprised to see this level of art/talent on a brick wall. This book is a must have for fans, art collectors and historians of art!
