Apparently EMI Music didn’t get around to listening to Snoop Dogg’s 2002 record Paid the Cost to be the Boss until this year. Either that, or they’ve just ignored his logic for seven years.
According to a New York Times report, the storied, multi-platinum-selling veteran has been named creative chairman of EMI’s Priority Records, a distributor which has been behind some of Snoop’s work, as well as West Coast legends like N.W.A. and Ice Cube.
Snoop’s comment from the article: “the business model we’ve set up will bring the musical heritage of groups like N.W.A. to the forefront.”
