With all the push-backs, the title changes, and the heat surrounding Lupe’s next release, it looks like things are moving along. The “experimental” album will not be his final release, which is “indefinitely” postponed. How many rappers retire when they say they will? No complaints, but no release date set for Lasers yet.
From the Coke Live Music Festival in Poland over the weekend, Lupe said in this interview:”I feel like, ’cause of my first two albums, that now I have the foundation to just branch off and just do not really crazy [music] or whatever I want, but just make music outside of who I normally make music for,” he said. “I feel like I have my true fans, my hardcore fans down, locked down, and now I can kinda experiment with other types of music and it’s really good. It’s my favorite album thus far.”
He also shares his feelings about other rap geniuses, the American government, and what hip-hop’s message should be.
