Usually I’m wary of actors trying to be musicians, but I’m so glad that Ryan Gosling proves me wrong. With bandmate Zach Shields, they directed the video in a graveyard and were satisfied with just two takes. I raise my flag up into your heart, begins the chorus, and it’s a modest production in sepia tones and Gosling and Shields’ costumes are austere– in harmonious accord with their bare bones production. Their self-titled debut doesn’t hit the streets (or the graveyard–ahh creepy) until early Oct on Anti, but it’s gonna be a killer. Okay, no more lame puns.
