Spike Lee’s movie Do The Right Thing has inspired Minneapolis DJ Rambo Salinas and art collective Overproof to put on a one of a kind event, a Tribute to Radio Raheem. In its second year the evening will start off with a ‘Broadcast to the City’ from RSE radio with DJ BUCK K.A.C. who will play nothing but straight classics in correspondence with the show will be a boombox reception will be held at Clubhouse Jager with all boxes set to RSE Radio. Following the broadcast at 11PM is DJs Espada, Mike2600, Rambo Salinas and King Otto will do what seems nearly impossible, DJing with cassette tapes aka TapeJays. Break Dancers will be in the house all night from the Minnesota’s Nicest crew and Warriors crew. Bring your box for the annual Boombox contest and stick around to win other Do the Right Thing prizes!
