60 WATT KID: Interview

Children of Noise on the Los Angeles Playground

URB: Your friend Mike told me you did a show in a kitchen and took everything out of the freezer and played with a chicken, was it?
DT: A turkey. That was where we met Dylan, our drummer. Kevin needed a battery for one of his pedals and Dylan came to the rescue and was really cool. That was the show at the Bad Pad in Long Beach when we were a two piece. We were playing and I just saw the fridge and I realized that we were in a kitchen. And I’m just like, “How fucking funny…there’s a refrigerator and I’m playing a live show.” So I opened it up and I started shoving my guitar into the freezer. And then Kevin opened the fridge and threw this big old turkey on the floor. I think it was still in its wrapper and it didn’t ruin it. That’s one of those things with a live show, where you don’t know what’s going to happen.
