Mr. Scruff might be the most playful beat-maker out there. He has become synonymous with the light-hearted, sample happy music that he has created for so long. With the 10th anniversary reissue of Keep it Unreal, there are few criticisms. It’s light and fun, perfect for a car commercial or a cheesy skateboarding video game. Reminiscent of Fatboy Slim, it’d be a task to not like Keep it Unreal. However, it might be just as hard to absolutely fall in love with this release. It seems to remain in the middle, easy accessible and likable but not unforgettable, which might make you wonder who was anticipating a reissue.
