If you are a fan of reggaeton, salsa, or you simply enjoy electronic world music flavor, it might be worth you time to check out Revolution, and 12 track compilation album featuring musical flavors from the Latin world.
Amongst the many artists featured are Norman Cook (a.k.a. Fatboy Slim), former Frou Frou member Guy Sigsworth, composer Marius DeVries and producer/ remix master Rich File.
Although some of England’s brightest talents grace Revolution with their presence, there is something strange and insincere about it. Maybe it’s the complete lack of continuity from one song to the next (a slow ambient-esqe song being followed by a reggaeton track followed by a hip hop song featuring electric guitar), or maybe it’s the fact that a cast of English producers/ musicians got together and created a Latin infused electro compilation album.
Although Revolution had me pining to press eject after two miniutes into track 1, I say to give it a chance. It might be right up your alley.
