Due to the Weinstein Company’s recent financial troubles, the studio has decided to shelve their basketball drama co-starring Lil Wayne until further notice. The film, titled Hurricane Season, also stars Bow Wow and Forrest Whitaker, and is the story of a post-Katrina high school basketball team comprised of players from different schools that ends up making their way to the state championship. The film finished filming in mid-2008 and was originally scheduled for an early 2009 release date. Sad news.
