Earlier this week, in Japan, a statue of Gundam was completed in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the “Mobile Suit Gundam” anime series. Built by Bandai, this 60 foot Gundam RX-78-2 replica now towers over Tokyo Bay’s Odaiba Island. Fifty points on the Gundam statue will emit light, and mist will shoot out of 14 different points on the statue. The replica will be on display through most of the summer, so if you have a passport and some extra yen you can see for yourself that this is not a photo shop prank. [Kotaku.com]
