Welcome to New York Once in the taxi I make small talk with the driver. How long have you been a taxi driver? Where do you like to drive? How much would it cost to drive me to Connecticut to see family?* Bad question. He pulled out a book and started reading the rates for cab fares to CT WHILE driving about 60MPH through the Midtown Tunnel. We didn’t stop to pay a toll, but I had to pay the toll in my fare later on. Go figure. Made a quick stop in Midtown to see a friend, then went down a sketch side street to find sushi.
The good news about an early morning at the airport is…a breakfast of champions. Three Amigo Omelette anyone? Basically its a fancy way of selling 3 scrambled eggs for $10. the flight was easy: got on, said hello to the 17 bible beaters that I was placed next to, read a little of SKYMAG to see which new gadgets I’ll never buy, then passed out. Woke up for snacktime and slept until I landed at LGA. One of the first differences that you must know is that in NY, you have to wait in a line to get a taxi. I’ve never waited in a line for a taxi in my life.
