Folk music gets a rep for being corny, flowery and just plain bad. It’s a lot like poetry in that way. The great Charles Bukowski once said that it’s the poets themselves that give their art a bad name. I would say it’s the same with folk music. Eddi Reader is a singer/songwriter from Scotland whose content consists of very idealistic and overly saccharine themes’hence “Love is the Way.” Not that there’s anything wrong with this though.
