Love Is The Way
Folk music gets a rep for being corny, flowery and just plain bad. It’s a lot like poetry in that way. The great Charles Bukowski once said that it’s the poets themselves that give their art a bad name. I would say it’s the same with folk music. Eddi Reader is a singer/songwriter from Scotland whose content consists of very idealistic and overly saccharine themes’hence “Love is the Way.” Not that there’s anything wrong with this though. When John Lennon sang “All You Need Is Love” there was some kind of transcendent epiphany embedded into the music. Reader’s fluttery voice just makes the message seem nao
