Following up last year’s little smash of a single, Happy House, Mr. Juan MacLean returns Apr 14th, with a sophomore full-length he’s decided to call The Future Will Come.

In case MacLean’s sunny new disposition is unapparent, he’s adding “House” to the upcoming LP as well as previewing the release with a sweet new single: One Day. Blissed-out with little synth attacks and, in what’s becoming a signature style, off-step drum patterns make up the rythm bed of this minimal ditty. LCD Soundsystem co-hort Nancy Wang’s sweet chirp interacts with Juan’s own mockishly deep voice as they tag team in what sounds like a take-off of Human League’s “Don’t You want Me Baby?“. Around the minute and a half mark the track intros a a lush infusion of mock violins, think early 90’s house, and the track hits an upbeat kick-laden stride as Wang’s jilted lover sends words of caution to MacLean’s wonderfully oblivious counterpart.

A vinyl/digital One Day Remix EP, featuring reworks by Mark Romboy, The Emperor Machine and Surkin, is available this very week and you can check out the original single right here on this page.
