Following on from last week’s announcement of Warp Records 20th anniversary celebrations is the news that Richard D. James – or Aphex Twin as he is more commonly known – has a new album in the pipeline that will hopefully see the light of day this year. Speaking to BBC’s 6music last week, Warp founder Steve Beckett revealed there is material on its way, so long as he can actually extract it from the notoriously ‘difficult’ producer: “We’re definitely going to be putting out a new album by him. Hopefully it will be this year, if I can prise it out of his hands. It’s definitely on its way.”
