Keelay & Zaire – Ridin’ High (Review)

Keelay & Zaire

Ridin' High

Ridin’ High is the collaboration of two veteran producers from the Soul Vibe family: Keelay & Zaire. Together they bring forth a much-needed new breed of production polished with classic Hip-Hop and R&B aesthetic. Keelay, hailing from the Bay Area, and Zaire, residing in Newport News, VA each worked on their own production projects before ever getting acquainted. After exchanging beats over time it became clear that they were destined to work together. Zaire flew out to the Bay Area with the final result being their debut album Ridin’ High releasing via the newly imprinted MYX Music Label. This album features a handful of label-mates and other guests including the untouchable Jern Eye, Phonte of Little Brother and Blu. Keelay & Zaire’s ability to fuse their production ability with distinctly highlighting their guest’s lyricism is absolutely amazing. The album’s lead single “The Times feat. Blu, Fortilive and Nino Moschella,” currently in rotation on MTV, BET, and MTVU, shows the beautiful vibe of San Francisco with Keelay & Zaire’s signature soulful sound providing the backdrop. Every single solitary track on this record maintains a cohesive vibe that will keep listeners cruising in their rides until they run out of gas: or weed, which ever comes first. Ridin High is a Hip-Hop lovers’ dream fusing your favorite styles from both coasts to create a record that will stay forever timeless. Track 3, Addicts for Real says it best, Making new school with that classic appeal.
