“Young Folks”, the catchy pop tune that the ITunes Music Store named as the number one song of 2007, hit the internets via myspace and youtube in 2006 and then the international airwaves thereafter. Filled with cute whistling and a catchy melody that contained a burgeoning love dialogue between a girl and a boy, the song was the creation of a 3-piece indie-pop band from Stockholm, Sweden. The world was introduced to them at that moment, but with 3 albums already under their belt, they were unknowingly already veterans on the indie scene. Peter Bjorn and John has no flashy band name. They come as themselves. And with their new album, Living Thing, they are looking forward to showing the world that they are more than just a pop, rock, or indie band for that matter. They would rather be known as “a weird band” who can do whatever style they like. Recently, URB.com spoke to guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist Peter, to talk about the band’s recent activities, their new album, and what surprises they have in store for their upcoming performances.
