There’s a clip in the recent documentary about The Queen Is Dead that juxtaposes The Smiths first dour appearance on Top Of The Pops with a segment of “typical” British pop at the time—all big hair and keyboards and island rhythms produced by white people. I think you could easily pull out the audio from that clip and replace it with this “HI-NRG” remix of Air France by Jesse Kanda (aka Friend). So why do I like it so? [Gorilla vs. Bear]
