Stereotypically, artists are known to be cocky, arrogant, and quite delusional when it comes to who they are and where they stand in the sphere of greatness. At times, these ego-driven emotions are backed by the belief that they are the lone creative souls on the planet, here to rescue untalented masses out of their boredom. So when an artist steps out of this box and begins to acknowledge the reality that there are other creative artists that also exist, I am more than blown away.
Pharrell Williams is 1/2 of the Virginia based mega-producing duo The Neptunes, 1/3 of the recording group N.E.R.D, label owner of Star Trak, and clothing proprietor of Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream. He is a unique, inspiring, and humble artist. He has not only chosen to acknowledge that beyond his own accomplishments, there are other talent out there, but he has created a web portal that allows those artists to showcase their work and connect with others.
