You don’t ever realize how shit most of the leaks on the internet sound until you’ve heard the real deal first. I’ve been privately jocking the promo copy of the YYY’s third album, It’s Blitz, for about a week now. I even told Nick in an e-mail I thought it was ‘amazing evolution while still sounding like yourselves. kinda the ultimate third album accomplishment.’ I’ve had at least a dozen conversations with folks about how truly great I think the whole album is—trying to explain that the phrase ‘lots of synths’ isn’t nearly as trite and obvious as it sounds. So i’m a bit frustrated by the fact that ‘Zero’ has appeared on MySpace and YouTube, and the first thing I hear from friends is that it has ‘no punch.’ No shit, it’s a crappy rip. But since no one is going to wait to hear the real thing, go get it. Just know there’s more than what you’re hearing.
