Cage has set Jun 30, 2009, as the date that the world first experiences (okay, first has an opportunity to legally purchase) Depart From Me, his much-anticipated follow-up to 2005’s Hell’s Winter. The album features production by F. Sean (Martin), El-P, Aesop Rock, and Camu Tao (R.I.P.) and will be preceded by a free online EP made up of bonus material recorded called Never Knew You.
Cage is also planning on working in Feb with actor Shia LaBeouf on a video for ‘I Never Knew You.’ ‘I Never Knew You’ will mark the directorial debut of the Transformers’ favorite human sidekick (besides, perhaps, Tyrese). LaBouf is also slated to star as Cage himself in an autobiographical film about the MC that is presumably still in the early developmental stages.
