Sin Fang Bous
Clangour
Iceland strikes again! Time and again Iceland never fails to produce the most inventive musicians of our time. Here we have a fellow Iceland-er Sindri Mar Sigfusson aka Sin Fang Bous. Those who are not familiar with Sindri Mar Sigfusson, let me briefly fill you in. He is the mastermind behind the Reykjavik, Iceland pop-folk group Seabear: which began as his solo-project and rapidly grew into a six-member group. After generating a following with them, the 26-year old musician returns with his actual solo-project. Taking a break from the mellow/indie sound of Seabear, Clangour is a bit more experimental and psychedelic. Combining obscure sound effects, samples, and gentle vocals to create a beautiful sound that only a native Icelander could create. While creating calm and inviting songs such as Advent in Ives Garden, he also manages to guide you on a mysterious journey with moments such as: Melt Down the Knives, which has a dark and chaotic appeal to it. With his ear-pleasing melodies and appeasing vocals Sin Fang Bous has crafted a beautiful sound of blissful chaos. And just for the record, I was cheering for Iceland during D2: The Mighty Ducks.
