T-Pain, who May be hip-hop’s leading candidate for Sixth Man of the Year, is slated to join John Legend onstage for a performance of Legend’s ‘Green Light’ on NBC’s Super Bowl pregame extravaganza. Aside from making his name on clutch performances as a feature on a number of chart-topping hits, T-Pain has been great off the bench for Lil Wayne’s live renditions of ‘Lollipop,’ subbing in for deceased R&B crooner Static Major. Now, the man who declared Auto Tune on its way out has presumably been drafted to take Andre 3000’s spot on the ‘Green Light’ roster while he sits on the inactive list. A second string role May sometimes be a bit demoralizing, but it probably numbs the Pain when you’re the opening act for the biggest game of the year.
