Lil Wayne’s camp has annouced that his forthcoming rock album, Rebirth, will be released on on Apr 7, with the first single, ‘Prom Queen’ debuting online immediately following a concert in San Diego on Jan 27 that will stream on MySpace.
Wayne is hardly the first rapper to try his hand at rock’n'roll, although keeping to this release date will put him well ahead of Lil Jon, whose Crunk Rock album has become something like Dre’s Detox (for the Public Enemy/Anthax set) in the line of long forgotten albums.
