Music For An Accelerated Culture

This debut album from nu-ravers Hadouken! was probably birthed in a hot pink Dodge Neon doing donuts in a shopping mall courtyard while the driver yells maniacally at concerned bystanders’ resulting in something insane, loud, and totally unnecessary where all you can do is ask yourself, “Why?” The dudes from Leeds stake their claim to fame alleging to having created a future-proof sound with high-energy lyrics that speak to the rapid-moving youth of today. Their actual results, however, are far from innovative or remotely characteristic of a culture’they sound like the bastard child of Reggie and the Full Effect and emo band Senses Fail that somehow still find the courage to take themselves seriously.

All laughs aside, if you’ve heard one Hadouken track you’ve heard them all. All the songs follow a standard pattern that goes absolutely nowhere and leaves you lightheaded with a bitter taste in your mouth on a disoriented quest trying to recover lost time.
