Inaugural Immunity

american flag 2a Inaugural Immunity

Since all of America is in the mood to talk about Diplomats today, I’ve decided to put an URB spin on things and bring this Inauguration full circle, which means it’s going back to Harlem. Now, I know you’re wondering to yourself how exactly Obama has anything to do with Harlem and because you’re probably reading this post from your office computer at work, I’m going to tell you. Obama started his community outreach work at City College in New York, which is right off 143rd St. and Amsterdam. In other words, it’s right in the heart of Harlem World USA. With that being said, it’s blatantly obvious that this here blog post is going to be about the red, white, and blue pigeon chain wearing dudes out of Harlem, Dipset.

Apparently, there is no such thing as Dipset anymore. They’ve all broken up and gone their separate ways. We’ve got Skull Gang and Byrdgang and still no Cam’ron to be found. Maybe he’s still at the bottom of the p*ssy hole or Maybe that serial killer from 4E finally got him. Who knows? All that I know is that Cam single-handedly messed up one of the best things that New York had going for them.

In a new interview for both XXL and Bombin Magazine, Juelz talks about how Cam pretty much ripped them off their whole career. Yes, he got them where they needed to be but when they started breaking off and making a name for themself, he took a lot of their rights. In the XXL interview, Santana speaks about how he was basically geared up to be as big a star as Weezy is right now. And now that I think about it, he was. Everything that Weezy did, he did first. Even the clothes. Don’t forget who originally made Weezy a household name in the North, Dipset. Jim Jones started wearing that tight, rocker sh*t first and at the same time, Weezy was in Harlem wit Santana doing I Can’t Feel My Face. I’m not saying that Wayne jacked their style but his influence came a lot from Santana and Jim Jones. Still don’t believe me? Check out that Hustler Musik video and see where it was shot at.

Either way, Juelz was doing Nike commercials and all of that before Lil’ Wayne even dropped Carter 2. Probably out of jealousy, Cam had all that stuff discontinuted. As a business man, it was pretty obvious that the right move for them to do was to get out of their and to do their own thing.

I know one thing though, even if y’all don’t like Dipset, y’all have to respect their grind. Nobody’s been able to take that drug/street mentality and turn it into everything that they have. They’re pretty much the definition of going from nothing to something

ps – I know some of you losers out there are going to name some other rapper and claim that they did the same thing, probably Jay-Z. But that would be wrong cause Jay didn’t handle any business. Dame did everything. All he did was make music. Besides that, it’s pretty obvious that Jay can’t handle any form of music business because his firing resignation from Def Jam speaks for itself.
