The Manifest Hope: DC Gallery Opening and Private Press Viewing is this Friday, the 16th, from 6-9PM. It is a celebration of artwork from people who use this to express their own voice in grass roots progressive movement. All the proceeds from purchased art will go to the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. The art was carefully chosen by such judges as Spike Lee and Shepard Fairey, who will help host the event.
But wait…don’t stop there…the following Monday a special invite-only party will be held after the Inauguration, featurning URB fav’s Santogold, De La Soul, and Moby. The party is hosted by moveon.org, SEIU, OBEY/Giant, Shepard Fairey, Rasario Dawson, Michael Stipe and Heather Graham.
