If you were in Times Square Monday morning you may have been one of the recipients of a bunch of carnations or roses from Columbia. About 200 Columbian volunteers handed out 100,000 of their country’s flowers in Times Square, Penn Station, Wall Street, and Grand Central Station as part of Columbia, Land of Flowers campaign. Most Americans are unaware that half the flowers sold in the U.S. come from Columbia.
